cancer sticks

i reckon smoking rooms should be established everywhere. since the tak nak campaign isn't as effective as the government aimed for, we should put a halt to posters with yellow teeth and blackened lungs on traffic lights.

the next step should be erecting smoking rooms. there are 2 ways of seeing this - you're either encouraging smoking or you're preventing non-smokers from passive smoking (involuntary inhalation of smoke by a person who occupies an area with a smoker).

don't get the wrong idea, i don't smoke and i'm very much still a cigarette virgin. but to say i'm a passive smoking virgin is a lie. and because of that, i probably have hacked out half of my lungs. my dad was a smoker, let me rephrase that, he was a chain-smoker for about 10 years. and then he met my mom and he quit...wtf so tacky. so the fact that i grew up cigarette-free was a deterrent itself.

but back to the point, smoking rooms would be a brilliant idea. i should write to the government. sure it's gonna require a lot of spending but it's better than spending millions of money on frivolous things (eg. mercedes-benz cars for ministers, expensive training courses for government servants at 5 star hotels, etc). now in the smoking room itself, i suggest we should set up a board displaying the physical effects of smoking, as mentioned above. pasting these posters on sheltered walls are much better than pasting them on billboards and traffic lights and whatnot. mainly cos' the colour fades after some time and when it rains, it gets ruined (cos' m'sia damn cheap don't use good quality)

i wouldn't suggest putting an absolute ban on smoking since it'll just disrupt the economy. besides, why should we obviate their rights to mutilate their lungs?

i just wish they'd get a room, y'know. preferably on the rooftop, that way, they're closer and can sniff off to heaven.
