the opening ceremony was brilliant. it started off with the beating of fou (correct me if i'm wrong) drums for the countdown. next they revealed a gargantuan scroll where most performances was held. that too was different. and the way the torch was lit was wow. they had one of their greatest athlete to "run", not on ground but on air (on suspenders, duh), around the bird nest stadium. that was fancy. you can tell they put a lot of thought and creativity into making it a success. but you know what was so boring? the bit where they introduced all 200+ countries. it's tradition, i know, but i found it so long and dull. except for when yao ming, kobe bryant, nadal and federer appeared :)

atm czech republic and china won 2 gold medals, for shooting and weighlifting respectively. both women somemore! whooot! GIRL POWER!

so i received a postcard from joyce just now. she was in spain and now she's back in london, she's a nice chum. and you know, when i met her the first time she looked strangely familiar then she said she did her alevels in inti! can the world get anymore smaller? and omg you know what else! one of my classmates is from brunei, and i had another classmate from brunei when i did my sam in inti, and i randomly asked this present classmate of mine if he knew wilson and he said he did! (i asked him to prove that he knew wilson and he mentioned wilson's twin sister's name). world's getting smaller.

you can see the balls quite clearly
